We all know that the Society treats us as door mats and we left our rights as Christians behind when we got baptized ,but each congragation in Britain is registered as an autononous Charity ,so you and I the rank and file we contribute towards these Charities .Does this gives us any rights in the eyes of the Law ? I had a chat with a solicitor and he said you might have but he needs to see first the Constitution .The question is : I pressume that this constitution is the same in all British congagations and drafted from the brilliant minds of the Watchtower Leagal Department .Does anyone have a copy of a Constitution ? Has anyone ever looked into it ?

Contributions ,how the Society CONTROLS the funds of a congragation
by raymond frantz ini'm not sure if anyone has started a post about contributions recently ,but if there is an accounts servant here please free to correct me or shed some more light .what i'm about to say is 100% accurate and applies to congragations in britain (don't ask me how just ...join the dots).
the society controls all the funds that are coming in the kingdom hall all of the time .the way this works out is as follows :you put any money in any of the contribution boxes and in the end all money are added to together and deposited to the congragation's bank account .the worldwide donations leave the account as a direct debit to the society every week and the rest stays in the account .now comes the interesting bit :once the account goes over 5000 we are instructed to send the rest to the society as a cheque and is held in their account for as long as the congragation doesn't needed back .this way all but 5000 are held in the society's account .any other experiences ?.

Juan Viejo2 ,brilliant letter .A couple of corrections :
- Resolutions :Don't make me laugh ! Has there ever been a resolution NOT passed ? If you put your hand against it ,it will be a visit from the elders for you .Now we know why no one puts their hand up .A resolutions was passed 10 years ago about the CO arrangement Fund and every one has forgotten about it
- I'm the secretary so i know what's coming in and what's going out .I can tell you the CO arangement fund is twice a year, the same amount of visits the CO is paying to the cong ,so for an average congragation of 70-80 that is still £200 a week .Plus congragation donation of £100 for the CO for that particular week and £100 for the family that gives him hospitality
- Our cong has in excess of £100k and I can assure all but £5k are held from the Society
Bottom line is ,NEVER DONATE .
Don't worry if you loose the building is not yours anyway ,it changed owner years ago ,it is part of the Society's real estate

They have abused this part of the Bible so many times ,I wouldn't expect them to do better now .I will have to agree with Phizzy ,these verses describe two eventualities and not groups of people .This is a parable not a prophesy

...It gets worse .The money donated to C.O. are as follows Traveling Overseer Arrangemt Fund (=£3 per publisher ) from a congragation of 100 ,that is £300 a week per congragation ,on top of that ,he gets food paid ,hand outs and weekly expenses paid for,total £1500-1800 a month (=maybe even more) .In this time of Global Recession ,they sure live above the average Jw and do nothing all day but telling us how not to go to university

THis is the original GREEK text : "Τις αρα εστιν ο πιστος και φρονιμος δουλος ...."
'O (=is the definitive article) πιστος (=faithful ) δουλος (=slave)
Just because there is an "o" in front of the faithful and discreet slave that doesn't mean that this is a specific group or singular person at a specific time .Greek language commonly uses "o" for male adjuctives or nouns .For example :
O μαθητης πρεπει να ακουει τον δασκαλο (=The student should listen to the teacher) By using "o" in front of student that doesn't mean that the student is a specific person or group of people at a specific point of time , it shows that ,if you claim to be a student you then have to listen to your teacher.
Matthew 24:45-47 is a parable not a prophecy .99% off all scholars and Christian Churchs regarded as a parable .The slave can be any Christian that demonstates the attributes presented in the verse i.e. faithful and discreet .
The current GB of Jehovah's Witnesses lack any interpratational integrity when it comes to the the Bible ,use your own research and understanding.

The congragation gets 0% interest out of their "deposit" with the Society .Now ,we know the Society is playing in the Stock Market and attends Hedge Funds meetings ,so I'm pretty sure they make more than 0% interest on these funds .The congragation was never asked if that was ok ,it was only announced every time the accounts were read ,but there was no Resolution

Cold Steel ,I couldn't agree more .Asking for credentials is the number one obvious thing to ask ,but I find this approach more confrontentional and something I use when everything fails .My approach is based on the assumption that most Witnesses have that if there is a change in doctrine is not a problem since the Governing Body said it.Also I use my argument as a way to refute the famous loyalty question that frames someone as an apostate :" Do you belive that Jehovah guides the Governing Body?" .It is based on the idea of who is the final authority and having used it twice with "sleeping " Witnesses ,it seems to work .

I'm only trying to plant a seed ,I really feel for all these brothers and sisters being abused spiritually .I think we are at a point where time is on our side .THis is not another 1975, this time things are different .I've seen people stepping down or being disfellowshiped the last year more than I have ever since in my life as a Witness
